The Castle is one of the newest compared to the history of other castles since it was purchased by Queen Victoria’s husband in 1852. Since then, it has been the vacation spot for all the royals who came after Victoria, but mostly Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III.
A favorite location for outdoor activities
Charles brought his children to the castle and mainly castle grounds to hunt, fish, explore, ride on horseback, hike, sight-see, and many more outdoor activities.
The last time William had outdoor fun as a family was in 1997, only days before her mother passed away, and his most recent memory of Balmoral was the passing of his grandmother, so he must build new memories with his children.
