Princess Charlotte is the only daughter of Prince William and his wife Catherine. Her older brother Prince George is destined to become king at some point in his life, while Charlotte is currently number four in the line of succession to the British throne. She will drop down further in line if Prince George becomes a father in the future. 

Since the Perth Agreement ranks birth order regardless of gender, she did not move down in line of succession when her younger brother, Prince Louis, was born.

This makes her the first elder sister of a British Prince to be ranked above him in the line of succession.

To celebrate the birth of Princess Charlotte, a few of the sights in London were illuminated in bright pink - London Eye, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square for example.

Princess Charlotte is very interested in ballet dancing and has begun to take some lessons. In the fall of 2019, she will begin going to school at the same school her older brother Prince George attends.
