She felt her ex-husband needed to get ahead of the scandal

Did Sarah Ferguson Convince Prince Andrew To Do The Controversial BBC Interview?

Prince Andrew has been receiving an incredible amount of backlash over his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in August of this year, as well as the disastrous interview he gave BBC Newsnight this past Saturday. The criticism has not only affected the Duke of York but also the entire British royal family.

Prince Andrew Resigns From Public Duties

In a statement issued by the palace on Wednesday November 20th by Prince Andrew himself, it read: "It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family's work and the valuable work going on in the many organisations and charities that I am proud to support."

Prince Andrew: "Step back from public duties"

He continued, "Therefore, I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission." He continued to say that he regrets his "ill-judged" friendship with Epstein and that he knows that his suicide left many unanswered questions for his victims.

Prince Andrew concluded the statement noting that, "Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required."
