Prince Charles on Friday was spotted in Scotland, as he took some time to visit an NHS hospital in Wick on the east coast. Although Duchess Camilla was not featured in the pictures provided by the official NHS Highland Instagram account, it is likely that the Duchess of Cornwall traveled to Scotland with her husband.

Hospital staff were "delighted" to see Prince Charles

But before Charles, who is known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, went on to Balmoral to spend the summer holidays at his and Camilla's Birkhall home, he visited the Caithness General Hospital in Wick. During his visit, he wore a traditional Scottish Kilt while chatting and laughing with the staff who were "thrilled" to have him.

Commenting on the royal visit to the hospital, NHS Highland Chair Professor Boyd Robertson said in an official statement: "We were delighted to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Rothesay to Caithness General Hospital."

"His Royal Highness spent time chatting with our staff to thank them for their efforts over the last few months and heard their experiences of working across a variety of health and social care roles during the Covid-19 pandemic."

"All of the staff that met him were delighted and it has given the entire team a morale boost after such a demanding and challenging period. I would like to thank His Royal Highness most sincerely for his visit to Caithness General Hospital," Robertson concluded his statement.

For now, Charles and Camilla will have likely moved on to spend their summer holidays at Birkhall, where they already lived for three months in isolation during the lockdown in spring. Queen Elizabeth II will also move to Balmoral this summer, after spending the last months isolating at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip.
