Prince Harry Arrives In UK Before Princess Diana Statue Ceremony

Prince Harry is back in his homeland. The Duke of Sussex arrived in London today after flying in overnight from California. Here's what to know on where he's staying and his self-isolation plan ahead of next week's emotional ceremony for Princess Diana's 60th birthday.

Home again: Prince Harry has officially arrived in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex flew in from California overnight on Thursday and landed in London on Friday afternoon local time. He made the trip now with six days to go until he'll honour what would've been the 60th birthday of Princess Diana on July 1.

Upon arriving at London's Heathrow Airport, Prince Harry was taken by car to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, where he'll stay with his cousin Princess Eugenie, her husband, and their newborn son.

Daily Mail captured a photo of the Duke en route to the royal residence. He'll now have to self-isolate for five days on the UK's test-to-release policy. If he tests negative for COVID-19 on the fifth day, he can emerge from quarantine.

The timing puts Prince Harry on track to attend the July 1 unveiling of a Princess Diana statue. He'll join his brother Prince William at Kensington Palace to present the statue they jointly commissioned for their late mother's 60th birthday.

As was expected, the Duke made the journey to the UK without his wife Duchess Meghan and their two children. Meghan gave birth just three weeks ago and remained home with the couple's daughter, Lilibet Diana.

In the meantime, Harry returns to his former UK home, Frogmore Cottage. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lived there until they left for North America in 2019, and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank moved into the home last year.

It's Prince Harry's first time back in the UK since he attended the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip back in April. The visit will reunite him with Prince William, but reports say his father Prince Charles is expected to be in Scotland during Harry's stay.
