Prince Harry spoke candidly while attending the National Youth Mentoring Summit on Tuesday July 2nd this year about his newfound awareness to setting a good example now that he has become a father.

Setting a good example for Archie

Harry hopes that he is able to set a good example for his son Archie and be a positive role model in his life as well as the lives of others. Prince Harry went on to say that, "I’m struck by a few things today, most of which is the power of the invisible role model. The person who may be sitting here today that doesn’t realize that someone looks up to them, that – for that person – you inspire them to be kinder, better, greater, more successful, more impactful. Perhaps it's the newfound clarity I have as a father knowing that my son will always be watching what I do, mimicking my behaviour, one day maybe even following in my footsteps," according to Hello!.

"Princess Diana was a role model to so many"

The Duke of Sussex continued by mentioning his mother, the late Princess Diana who would have turned 58 years old on Monday July 1st. "My mother, Princess Diana, was a role model to so many, without realizing the impact she would have on so many lives. You don't have to be a princess or a public figure to be a role model, in fact it's equally valuable if you're not because it's more relatable. Being a role model and mentor can help heal the wounds of your own past and create a better future for someone else."

Prince Harry making positive change

Prince Harry's touching words not only about his late mother but about his duty as a father to set a good example for his son seemed to resonate with the attendees of the National Youth Mentoring Summit. We are so incredibly proud of the Duke of Sussex and cannot wait to see what positive change he continues to make in the world.
