• Another reveal from Prince Harry in his new book Spare
  • Harry says he was not Best Man at Prince William's wedding
  • He calls that a "bare-faced lie" that he had to go along with

Ask any royal fan and they'll probably tell you: Prince Harry was the Best Man at Prince William's wedding in 2011.

But now in his new memoir, Prince Harry says that's just not the case. And he wants the truth to be known.

At the royal wedding itself, Harry appeared to fill the important role of Best Man for his brother, and that was the official story told ever since.

Harry exposes "bare-faced lie" about William's wedding

On the contrary, Harry claims the Best Man business was a "bare-faced lie" by William that he had to go along with.

"Willy didn't want me giving a best man's speech," Harry writes in Spare, according to a Daily Mail excerpt.

Also interesting:

Apparently, Harry nevertheless had to act out the "lie," while the true Best Man role was shared by Prince William's friends: James Meade and Thomas Van Straubenzee, who got to make speeches at the wedding reception.

But over a decade after William and Kate's wedding, this detail is one Prince Harry wanted to clear up. It's one of many family revelations to come from his memoir Spare.
