On 22 July 2013, Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed their eldest son Prince George into the world. Born third in line to the throne – after his father Prince William and grandfather King Charles III – the choice of his name carries deep familial and historical significance.

But behind the scenes, other stories were unfolding in July 2013. Royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed a few years ago that Kate had a strong premonition that it would be a boy and wanted the name Alexander.
