Lord of the Rings fans got a surprise recently when the cast of the popular fantasy franchise came together again for a massive Zoom call! As Entertainment Tonight reports, the reunion was part of Josh Gad's Reunited Apart YouTube show, which brings former castmates together while social distancing from home.

The Lord of the Rings reunion was especially exciting since it's been 20 years since the first film in the series— The Fellowship of the Ring— was released! And it wasn't just a few members of the Lord of the Rings cast who caught up over Zoom either... most of the cast was there!

Miranda Otto, Andy Serkis, Liv Tyler, Karl Urban, and Hugo Weaving took part in the reunion as well. Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson also joined in, as did the film trilogy's composer and co-writer.

The whole thing was for a good cause too. As Entertainment Tonight shared, the Lord of the Rings reunion benefited non-profit organization No Kids Hungry, which provides children who depend on school lunches with meals during the coronavirus. Gad tweeted that the episode raised $80,000 as of Monday, which was on top of a $1.3 million dollar donation from Cheerio.
