Rachel Zegler is officially a Disney princess! On Tuesday, the casting news broke that Zegler has been tapped to play "Snow White" in the musical live action adaptation of Disney's classic movie, which is currently in the works!

Snow White director shares why Zegler is suited for the role

Zegler may be a newcomer to the industry, but she's already enjoying an incredibly successful career! She stars as "Maria" in Steven Spielberg's take on the musical West Side Story, which is set to be released this December. She also has an unknown role in the upcoming superhero sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

As Variety shares, the movie's director Mark Webb praised Zegler's "extraordinary vocal abilities" in a statement about her casting. He also said that the actress's "strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale."

Zegler takes to Twitter to show her excitement for Snow White

Zegler tweeted about her love for the "disney princess cinematic universe" on Monday, which fans now know was in reference to her brand-new role! The actress also said she's "MANIFESTED MY ENTIRE LIFE," and shared pictures as well as a short video clip with Disneyland's "Snow White".

And since Zegler is Colombian-American while "Snow White" is traditionally known for having pale skin, there's one question she wanted to put to rest! "yes i am snow white no i am not bleaching my skin for the role," she said in a tweet. We're excited to see her take on the beloved character!
