J.K. Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts' spin-off pleased some 'Harry Potter' fans and upset others, but now it seems fans, in general, will have to wait.

Will there be a part four of 'Fantastic Beasts'?

The 'Harry Potter series is unlikely to have a sequel anytime soon, after 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' which was released in 2022.

Director David Yates recently shared on the “Inside Total Film” podcast that there are currently no plans for any further parts of the series.

Yates expressed he was also confused at the initial plan for five 'Harry Potter' spin-off films, but he had only been hired for the first installment. The 'Fantastic Beasts' series, he said during the podcast, is currently “all just parked".

The third installment was created during the pandemic, and required everyone involved to take a break once filming was over.

Yates also revealed that he has yet to discuss the promised further parts with producer David Heyman or the production company Warner Bros and that he has yet to work with J.K. Rowling on these projects, and added that: "We’re just taking a pause."

Luckily, director Yates is optimistic about the future of the films and has encouraging words for the fans: "I’m sure at some point we may well be back."

Fans of the movie will have to wait patiently for a sequel.
