The 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards aired on Sunday, April 4, and it was certainly a memorable night! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, the awards show— which honours noteworthy performances in film and television— was condensed down to just one hour this year. The ceremony was also pre-recorded, going without a host or even a red carpet pre-show!
The main acting categories for film saw Ma Rainey's Black Bottom stars Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis triumph. Boseman was nominated in two categories, posthumously winning Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance as "Levee". Meanwhile, Davis picked up Outstanding Female Actor in a Motion Picture for the titular role!
