Anya Taylor-Joy thinks that "Beth Harmon" could possibly make a comeback! The star of The Queen's Gambit talked about the show's future in a new interview, revealing what she'd like to explore as her character if it were to continue!

Taylor-Joy would like to see her character as a mom

Taylor-Joy told Deadline that she finds it "so surreal and very wonderful" how are people wanting to see a second season of The Queen's Gambit. She then went on to say that while there has been "no discussion" about a continuation of the hit Netflix miniseries, she'd love to see what her character's life looks like in the future!

"It would be very interesting to see how Beth would be as a mother, now that she's sober and more cognizant of the demons that pull her down," Taylor-Joy shared. And as People mentions, this isn't the first time the actress has expressed interest in reprising her role!

Taylor-Joy says she "would certainly come back" to the show

Taylor-Joy also talked to Town & Country in October of last year about the possibility of a second season of The Queen's Gambit, sharing that she would love to play "Beth" again if she had the chance! "I adore the character, and I would certainly come back if I was asked to," she said at the time. However, she also said that she feels like if the first season was the end, the show "ends in a nice place" for "Beth"!

The Queen's Gambit was one of Netflix's biggest successes of last year, becoming the streaming platform's most popular limited series ever! Based on the 1983 novel by Walter Tevis, it tells the story of "Beth," a young chess prodigy. It looks like we'll just have to wait and see if the story will continue on-screen, or if it is in fact "checkmate" for the show!
