Noah Wyle played "Dr. John Truman Carter III" in ER for eleven seasons from 1994 to 2005. From a very wealthy background, "Carter" (as he is known by his colleagues) works for free while an emergency medicine resident. He later opens an AIDS clinic next to "County General" with the help of funding from his family's charitable foundation.
