Whoopi Goldberg wants there to be a third Sister Act, and hasn't given up hope that it will happen! As Entertainment Tonight shares, the actress was asked by her co-host Sara Haines if there was going to be another Sister Act movie on Thursday's episode of The View — and her answer was encouraging!

Goldberg says "it feels like there may be" another Sister Act

Goldberg told her co-host for the morning talk show that Sister Act 3 is something that could very well still happen! "It feels like there may be, yes, it feels like there may be," she said. "A few years ago, they didn't want to do it and now it seems like people are really talking about it like it is something that people want to see, so it's great."

The View wasn't the only talk show this week where Goldberg brought up the possible return of Sister Act. During Wednesday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, Goldberg told Corden that there seems to be a renewed interest in the franchise. "For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it, and then quite recently, it turns out that that might not be true," she shared. "People might want to see it."

Goldberg is "working diligently" to re-assemble Sister Act cast

Goldberg also mentioned that she's in the process of attempting to get the rest of the movie's original cast to return! "We're working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and to come back," she revealed to Corden. "Listen, it's a really fun movie," she said. "It's fun and it feels good and nobody's mad. It's just, like, listen -- bad singing, great singing, OK singing, and nuns. What's better than that?"

The original Sister Act was released in 1992, and adapted into a musical in 2006! The last time "Delores" and the rest of the "Sisters" appeared on-screen was in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, which came out the year after the first Sister Act movie.

And as Entertainment Tonight shares, back in 2018, Goldberg also suggested a possible new addition to the Sister Act cast when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen— comedian Tiffany Haddish! Now that we know Goldberg is game for it, hopefully things line up so that a third Sister Act movie can happen in the near future!
