- The Razzies announced their 2023 award nominees
- The Worst Actress category includes a 12-year-old
- The Golden Raspberries are facing backlash on the decision
The Golden Raspberry Awards is the negative equivalent of the Oscars. Annually, they even announce their nominees a day before the Academy Awards.

Another user on the platform wrote: "The Razzies are especially despicable for nominating a child actor."
But Armstrong is not the first child nominated for a Golden Raspberry. Macaulay Culkin is a three-time nominee for the Worst Actor award.
The Golden Raspberries respond to the controversy
Speaking to Buzzfeed, co-founder John Wilson said they decided to respect the award voters, and Armstrong is an "experienced actress, even if she's only 12."
However, he then backtracked some: "The intent was to be funny. In this particular instance, we seem to have misstepped very badly. I would admit that."
After the backlash, the Razzies rescinded the nomination and announced no future nominees under the age of 18...
