The British popstar never fails to make an impression, and is already regarded by many as one of the greatest performers of all time. In recent years, Adele has been at the center of the media's spotlight for several developments in her personal life outside of music. From losing a dramatic amount of weight, to a very public divorce that left her scarred, Adele's career has had a bit of everything in it.
Adele is known for keeping her personal business away from the spotlight. But this week, the singer sat down with talk show legend Oprah Winfrey to discuss some of the more private topics in her life, as well as to open up the doors of her mind and her heart to her many fans.
Adele Opens Up To Oprah
The sit-down with Oprah covered topics like her divorce, her career, and her hopes and dreams. Adele confessed that she felt like she "disrespected" the idea of marriage when she officially split from her ex-husband in 2018.
"From a very young age [I] promised myself that, when I had kids, we'd stay together. And I tried for a really, really long time." The singer suffered "terrifying anxiety attacks" after the divorce was finalized.
This anxiety is what led her to take on an exercise program that ended up with her losing 100lb in two years! Although at the time, many were shocked to see her transformation, fans stuck by her through her difficult season.
"Music helps me in many situations, and I would like to do the same for people... to be reminded that they're not alone."
