Kelly Clarkson has taken on a surprising song choice with her newest "Kellyoke"! On Thursday's episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson chose to cover Drake's song "Hold On, We're Going Home", giving it her own unique spin!
Clarkson delivers energetic performance of Drake's song
Clarkson wore a flowing black dress while she performed her cover of the Canadian rapper's 2013 song, with her backing band Y'all there to provide instrumentals. But while Drake's version of the track is fairly relaxed, Clarkson opted for a more energetic R&B rendition that featured the singer's signature vocal stylings!
As People mentions, Clarkson's performance was well-received online, with fans taking to social media to comment on it! "Sooooo Kelly's just gonna start 2021 out by casually bodying the best Drake song there is? Ok!!" one of them wrote in the YouTube comments section of her latest "Kellyoke". Another fan mentioned how Clarkson is so talented, she "can sing any genre" of music!
Clarkson has constantly wowed fans with her "Kellyoke"
Clarkson's "Kellyoke" segment has become a popular part of her show, with the singer taking on songs from many different artists since it began! The American Idol alum has covered songs from the likes of Patsy Cline, Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, and more. It's not a surprise that she was also able to pull off Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home", since she's proven herself to be a versatile vocalist!
"Kellyoke" has also seen Clarkson perform her own music! Before the holidays, the host delivered a joyous rendition of her Christmas song, "Underneath The Tree". And last month, Clarkson also opened up about the importance of music in her own life when she revealed that Garth Brooks' song "The Dance" had helped her cope with her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock!
