Kelly Clarkson doesn't have to worry about not being able to see her kids as much post-divorce! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Clarkson— who filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock earlier this year— has been given primary physical custody of 6-year-old daughter River and 4-year-old son Remy, according to several sources.

Clarkson's ex-husband able to see kids on select weekends

Clarkson currently lives in Los Angeles with her children, while her ex-husband Blackstock resides in Montana— a fact which played into her favour when it came to the official ruling! "The court finds that the minor children are not now and have not been residents of Montana and that California is their home state," the judge stated, according to TMZ.

The entertainment news site also mentions that while the former couple shares legal custody, Blackstock was only granted physical custody of his son and daughter for the first, third, and fifth weekends of each month. However, this arrangement also comes with the condition that Blackstock would have to fly to Los Angeles in order to spend time with them for the first and fifth weekends.

Clarkson and Blackstock have "issues of trust" with co-parenting

Clarkson and Blackstock's relationship issues are said to have intensified over quarantine, and now there are claims that the former couple has found sharing custody of their children difficult. "The level of conflict between the parents has increased," the legal document says, as cited by People. "The parties have a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them."

Ultimately, Clarkson was granted primary custody because the Los Angeles County judge in charge of the hearing determined the decision would be in River and Remy's best interest. "The Court finds that under the circumstances present in this case, the interest in providing stability and continuity for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner having primary custody," the document explained, "Petitioner" referring to Clarkson.

While Clarkson was fortunate enough to win this legal battle, she's currently dealing with another one! Back in September, it was revealed that Blackstock's father, who owns Clarkson's management company, has filed a lawsuit against the singer and talk show host. Here's hoping that she'll be able to conquer the courts once again, and come out of all of this "Stronger" than before!
