Tanya Roberts was born on October 15th, 1955 in the Bronx, New York City. She lived in Toronto, Canada for several years and started to put together a modelling portfolio by age 15. When she moved back to New York to be a fashion and cover model, she met the psychology student Barry Roberts while waiting in line for a movie. Tanya was the one who proposed to Barry in a subway station and they married in 1974.

Barry Roberts pursued a career as a screenwriter while Tanya studied at the Actors Studio. Barry was born on April 3, 1946, in New York City and was best known for his role and writing credits in Legal Tender (1991). Tanya and Barry were married until Barry's death on June 15th, 2006. He was only 60 years old and had a four year battle with encephalitis. The couple had no children together.
