Kruger had previously enjoyed a successful career as a model before becoming an actress. The actress recalled a specific incident that happened to her back in the early 2000s during a screen test for the movie Troy. Kruger shared she was required to wear her costume to a meeting with a studio head, admitting she "felt like meat" as he looked her over. She said he asked her why she should play the part of "Helen of Troy," which she ended up landing.
