Lady Gaga has released a brand-new video for her latest single! As People shares, on Friday the pop star dropped the music video for "911," which features colourful costumes as well as a dramatic narrative that Gaga says represents her own personal battles.

Gaga's "very personal" video inspired by film and art

Gaga talked about the video's message on social media, sharing what it means to her. "This short film is very personal to me, my experience with mental health and the way reality and dreams can interconnect to form heroes within us and all around us," she wrote on Instagram.

As People mentions, the "911" music video appears to draw its visual inspiration from other artists. Fans have pointed out that it seems to be influenced by the 1969 Armenian film The Color of Pomegranates, as well as Frida Kahlo's art and the bus accident that inspired some of it. "It's been years since I felt so alive in my creativity to make together what we did with '911,'" Gaga shared.

Gaga gives thanks, reveals she's in a better place

Gaga ended her post by thanking her fans, album producer Bloodpop, video director Tarsem Singh, and her creative team, the Haus of Gaga. "I'm awake now, I can see you, I can feel you, thank you for believing in me when I was very afraid," she concluded. "Something that was once my real life everyday [sic] is now a film, a true story that is now the past and not the present. It's the poetry of pain."

When her new album Chromatica was released in May, Gaga— whose real name is Stefani Germanotta— celebrated by having an at-home dance party with her boyfriend, Michael Polansky. She posted an Instagram video of the two dancing to "911," wearing matching outfits while balloons spelling out the album's name floated behind them.

Gaga has released two other music videos for songs from Chromaticalead single "Stupid Love" and her hit featuring Ariana Grande, "Rain on Me." She recently opened up about battling depression, and she and her mother Cynthia released a new book about spreading kindness! We're glad that Gaga has returned stronger than ever in her new era, continuing to create incredible art through her music!
