During an interview with 'Rolling Stone,' Jean-Claude Van Damme openly acknowledged his battle with bipolar disorder, a mood disorder diagnosed in the late 1990s. Bipolar disorder, also known as bipolar affective disorder, is characterized by extreme emotional swings.

Even before receiving this diagnosis, the action star had grappled with depression. Subsequently, he made significant adjustments to his training regimen to align with his mental well-being. In his words to 'Rolling Stone,' he stated, “I train differently, I eat differently, I'm trying to talk less fast because I have lots of passion for the project.”

Through a combination of knowledge and adapted training, Jean-Claude Van Damme found the strength to persevere. He optimistically remarked, "I'm better than yesterday," signifying his ongoing journey toward personal growth.

Today, Jean-Claude Van Damme has returned to filmmaking. While these recent projects may not attain the monumental successes of his earlier career, the 63-year-old star prioritizes his mental well-being. Not too long ago, he decided to take a hiatus from his daily routine, choosing the serene backdrop of Thailand.

Now, rejuvenated and sporting a beaming smile, he takes time to pose for his fans, his well-toned physique and revitalized spirit clearly evident.
