From 1952 until her death in 2022, Queen Elizabeth II was the reigning Queen of the United Kingdom. In 1947 she married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, who had always been her biggest supporter ever since her coronation. At the time of her birth, Queen Elizabeth II was only third in line for the throne.

He was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II and stood faithfully by her side since 1947. Popular for his wry sense of humor and his occasional "political incorrectness", this was the Duke of Edinburgh. He passed away in 2021.

Now, King Charles III, he was the Queen's oldest son. He has two well-known sons – Prince William and Prince Harry, and until 1992 Prince Charles was married to Lady Diana. She died on the 31st of August 1997 in a car accident in Paris. By now, he is married to Camilla, Queen Consort. The couple tied the knot in 2005.

She is King Charles’ second wife: In 1970, Camilla Parker-Bowles and Charles got to know each other at a Polo match. This first relationship lasted only two years. But she has always been presumed to have a secret love affair with Prince Charles, while he was still married. We do not know if Charles really cheated on Diana, but we do know, that Lady Diana has always been distressed about her relationship being compared with that of Charles and Camilla.

Prince William is the oldest son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. On the 29th of April 2011, William married his wife, Duchess Catherine. By now the two have three children: Prince George (2013), Princess Charlotte (2015), and Prince Louis (2018). Wiliam is preparing to one day be King. 

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton in 1982. Since 2011, Catherine is married to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. They got married in April 2011 in Westminster Abbey, London. Having the whole world watching her, Catherine gave birth to Prince George in July 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte in May 2015, and Prince Louis in April 2018. By now, Duchess Catherine is known as Prince William's wife as well as a British fashion icon. This phenomenon even has a name: The "Kate Middleton effect". In 2012 and 2013, Time magazine selected her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Henry Charles Albert David Mountbatten-Windsor, commonly known as Prince Harry is the second son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana. William‘s younger brother Harry took one year off after finishing school before he joined the British Army until 2015. He made headlines with his rather silly behavior for a long time, but by now he is very involved with charity work and even started the charity "Heads Together" in collaboration with his brother, Prince William, and William‘s wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. It is a campaign to end the stigma around mental health. In 2018, Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, an American actress and in 2019, they welcomed their son Archie. 

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, married Prince Harry in May 2018 in a gorgeous ceremony. They lived together in the UK before their royal exit in early 2020. Harry and Meghan now live in Los Angeles, California with their little son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, born on May 6, 2019. 

Anne is the second child, after her brother Prince Charles, and the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. From 1973 till 1992, Anne was married to Captain Mark Phillips. The couple has two children, Peter Phillips, and Zara Phillips. After the divorce, the Princess married again. In 1992, she was wed to Commander Timothy Laurence in Scotland.

Prince Andrew is the Queen’s second son and the third child of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. As a young man, he was in the headlines several times because of his relationships with women who were presumed to be "improper". Especially his relationship with model Koo Stark got him into trouble with the media. At that time he was even called "Randy Andy" by the press. In 1986 Andrew got married to Sarah Ferguson, but they got divorced ten years later. While they were married, the couple had two daughters: Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Lately, Prince Andrew has been making headlines once again in connection to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
