Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan celebrated their first year as a married couple in a pretty low-key way! As People reports, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand's new book Finding Freedom reveals that Harry and Meghan marked the milestone by having a casual lunch with Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland!

Meghan's mom Doria was visiting to meet grandson

Harry and Meghan's son Archie was born just several weeks prior to their anniversary. As People mentions, Doria flew to London to see her daughter and son-in-law, and meet her grandson! And while they also celebrated Harry and Meghan's wedding anniversary, the event was without fanfare.

"On the anniversary of their first year of marriage, Harry and Meghan enjoyed a traditional Sunday lunch with Doria, her last meal before traveling back to L.A.," Scobie and Durand shared. "Her five weeks at Frogmore had flown by, but she had to get back to work."

Harry gave Meghan an eternity ring to mark the day

Harry gave Meghan a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry to celebrate their first year of matrimony! "Harry also surprised his wife of one year with a ring that he had created with the jeweler to the stars Lorraine Schwartz, a favorite of Meghan's," Scobie and Durand shared. The Finding Freedom authors say Meghan was first seen wearing the ring in June of 2019 when she and Harry appeared at Trooping The Colour.

Harry and Meghan also shared a series of never-before-seen black and white photos from their wedding day on Instagram on their anniversary last year. And this year, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan were celebrating their second wedding anniversary in Los Angeles with their son Archie!

Just a few months after their anniversary, the couple bought a house in Santa Barbara, which a source has called their "permanent home." Harry and Meghan also recently changed the name of their Sussex Royal foundation, which is the latest sign that they're really moving on from the royal family. Harry and Meghan definitely value time spent as a family, and we're glad that they're enjoying life two years into their marriage!
