Meghan Markle's Debut Appearance Since Lilibet's Birth

The Duchess of Sussex has made her first appearance since giving birth to her daughter Lilibet Diana back in June.

Meghan Markle has just turned 40 and has come up with a wonderful initiative to inspire women around the world.

Meghan Markle's 40x40

The Duchess of Sussex launched a beautiful project called 40x40 in hopes of encouraging people to use a mere 40 minutes of their time to support women going to work. A whopping 40 superstar athletes, actors, artists, leaders and activists joined to help mentor women who are hoping to re-enter the workforce.

In a video posted to the Archewell website, she spoke with hilarious actress Melissa McCarthy about how "In the past two years, and in large part because of the COVID-19 pandemic, tens of millions of women around the world have left the workforce, including over two million women in the U.S. So many of these women are also shouldering the brunt of the crisis when it comes to unpaid labor, including schooling and caring for family members. And the latest research showed that fewer women than men will regain work as we recover from the pandemic."

Meghan proposed a creative new way to support the very women who need help with exactly that. "I believe mentorship is one way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength, and for my birthday, I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kickoff a global effort by contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women re-entering the workforce. With this time, I hope they each help someone advance a professional life on her own terms, and, I hope that they inspire countless others to give 40 minutes of their time as well."

This practical idea will include mentorship from Adele, Amanda Gorman, Sophie Trudeau, and Stella McCartney. She is hoping to inspire others to pledge 40 minutes of service to help others "in the way that feels right to you" to "set in motion meaningful impact in our own communities, and across the world."

The fun and playful video has been attracting a lot of attention and support from her high-profile friends in Hollywood. Melissa McCarthy also had great fun in the video when she caught Prince Harry juggling in the window behind Meghan unbeknownst to his wife!
