September 8th is one of the saddest days for the British royal family: Queen Elizabeth II died on this date last year, leaving fans and royals grieving alike.
Prince Harry on his grandmother's presence
Now, a year later, he stood on the awards ceremony stage and remembered the Queen in his speech. "As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away."
Prince Harry hardly has time to mourn his grandmother this year. The Invictus Games started in Düsseldorf on September 9th, for which the Prince is currently in Germany.
