Many will remember that big-hearted Prince William has been regularly checking on COVID-19 vaccine researchers and NHS workers since the pandemic first began ravaging the world. Now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel the Duke of Cambridge is so proud!

Prince William Congratulates Oxford Researchers

The Duke of Cambridge is so happy to have heard the good news! The coronavirus researchers at Oxford have had an incredible breakthrough with their vaccine.

Prince William joined a video conference with Oxford Universities Professor Andy Pollard (Professor of Paediatric Infection and Immunity), Professor Sarah Gilbert  (Professor of Vaccinology), and Professor Louise Richardson (Vice-Chancellor of Oxford). The brilliant group explained to the Duke that the vaccine will be "transformational" in the upcoming six months and will offer the potential to save lives.

During the video conference with the researchers, Prince William proudly said: "I saw it in everyone's faces back in June how much time and effort was going into this, and I could see that there was a lot of pressure on everyone, so I'm thrilled that you've cracked it, so really well done!"

Prince William had previously thanked the group for their work months ago not only for his countrymen but also because of his father's and his own scary run-in with the virus.
