• The Queen is buried
  • A particularly emotional moment for Princess Charlotte
  • She starts to cry

The funeral service for Queen Elizabeth II (†96) in Westminster Abbey was unsurpassed in sadness. The service for the late monarch was held there on September 19 before the coffin was taken to her final resting place in Windsor.

In addition to the Queen's children and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Prince George (9) and Princess Charlotte (7) were also able to attend the funeral service. Both were visibly affected by the farewell to their beloved grandmother. Charlotte in particular attracted attention with a touching moment after the service.

Princess Charlotte mourns openly

Overcome with her emotions, the Princess cried. She covered her eyes as she turned to her mom Kate, 40, for help. This has certainly caused one or the other spectator to well with sadness.

Prince George cries in church

Her big brother Prince George was very moved during the service. A photo shows him wiping his eyes there, no doubt to dry his tears.

The other royals also had a cry during or after the funeral service. Seeing her so moved not only moves the British but fans all over the world.
