ABC got right to it at the end of the finale episode of Bachelor in Paradise by introducing the next Bachelor! Drum roll please... It's Pilot Peter Weber! Get ready for jokes all season long about relationships soaring to new heights and any other flying related puns you can think of. Peter was a fan-favourite and second runner-up on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette

Peter Weber: "This is life-changing"

"It's still hitting me right now. I feel so grateful right now to have this opportunity in front of me. I feel emotional right now. This is crazy. This is life-changing... I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me and I know it's going to," Peter said to Chris Harrison in the hot seat on the show. Peter is very excited to embark on this journey as he said "I have truly, my entire life, looked forward to finding my girl and that person that I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with."

Mixed reactions from fans

Even though Weber was a fan-favourite, the announcement was met with mixed reactions from Bachelor Nation. Many fans were counting on Mike Johnson being chosen as the next Bachelor and the first ever black Bachelor at that. Chris Harrison tried to paint Weber in a different light by saying that he's very "different from any other Bachelor we've ever had" and proceeding to say that they've never had anyone on the show that lives 5 minutes from the Bachelor mansion.

What do you think rose lovers? Are you happy with the choice? Whatever our feelings are, we are just going to have to ride with it and hope that the next season is full of love, laughter and happily ever after.
