Apple TV+ has announced a brand new show sure to pique viewers' interest. Breaking the news via Twitter, Apple revealed that the limited drama series Defending Jacob will be coming to their streaming platform this spring, with Chris Evans set to star. Michelle Dockery and Jaeden Martell have also been tapped to play lead roles in the series alongside Evans.

Defending Jacob isn't the first time Evans and Martell have shared the screen however - the two also co-starred in the ensemble cast of whodunnit comedy Knives Out!

Defending Jacob based on a bestseller

Apple TV+ said in their official press release about the show that Defending Jacob is "a gripping, character-driven thriller based on the 2012 New York Times best-selling novel of the same name".

And if you're wondering what the show's actually about, look no further than the plot summary Apple has provided: "Defending Jacob is a limited drama series that unfolds around a shocking crime that rocks a small Massachusetts town, and follows an assistant district attorney who finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son."

The first three episodes of Defending Jacob will be available to watch beginning April 24th, with the show set to debut forthcoming episodes on a weekly basis every Friday.
