Regé-Jean Page was born in 1990 in London, England to a Zimbabwean nurse and an English preacher. He started acting when he was 13 years old, attending Jigsaw Performing Arts School before going on to study at the National Youth Theatre. 

The actor had different plans when he was younger, telling Netflix's 'Queue' that he "wanted to be an explorer". He revealed to InStyle that he was a “musical, loud, bouncing-around-the-house kid" who pursued acting for a surprising reason— so he could buy a Game Boy!
