Derek Hough is coming back to Dancing With the Stars when the show returns for season 29! The big announcement was made by Good Morning America on Wednesday— but they haven't yet revealed what the former DWTS pro will be doing!

Hough last competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2016

Hough's appearance on the show is exciting news for fans, and the most recent announcement to come out of this season! He last competed on DWTS in season 23, coming in sixth place alongside his partner Marilu Henner. As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Hough also has the most wins out of any pro in the show's history!

He's won the coveted mirrorball trophy while partnered with Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey, Kellie Pickler, Amber Riley, and Bindi Irwin. And as fans wait for Good Morning America to announce the details of Hough's return, there's already been a great deal of speculation!

It's been suggested that Hough might get added to the judging panel, or co-host DWTS with the show's new host, Tyra Banks. Hough spoke out last month about longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews' exit from the show, sharing that he feels "optimistic" about Banks taking their place. Regardless of what Hough will be doing on the show, fans are excited that he's coming back to the ballroom!
