The future of Days of Our Lives is officially uncertain. Production on the latest season, which also happens to be the 55th season of the long-running soap, is about to wrap up and the actors have all been released from their contracts according to TMZ. This means that the producers have let the entire cast out of their deals which means they are free to get new jobs. This doesn't necessarily mean that the show is done however...

Days of Our Lives: An indefinite hiatus

The NBC soap opera is going on an indefinite hiatus and the network is expected to decide by early 2020 whether or not they will bring the show back for a 56th season. The good news for fans however is that the show shoots 8 months in advance so there will be enough new episodes through to summer 2020.
