"Mama June" Shannon has returned to film for the Mama June: Road To Recovery! She was MIA for almost the whole season of Mama June: Family Crisis while she struggled with serious drug addiction, was arrested for possession, and abandoned her daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson.
"Mama June" Back For Mama June: Road To Redemption
The last year has been extremely difficult for the entire Shannon and Thompson family who we first got to know and love on Toddlers and Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. "Mama June's" crippling drug addiction was so taxing on her family and she all but disappeared before and after she and her cheating boyfriend Geno Doak were arrested.
The family tried to get her help but sometimes she didn't even have a phone! June even sold their family home and all of their possessions including "Honey Boo Boo's" toys and furniture for money for drugs. Then a battle for custody of Alana erupted between "Honey Boo Boo's" absent father "Sugar Bear" and her older sister "Pumpkin."

Ultimately, Alana has been raised by her older sister for more than a year now. Finally, at the end of last season, we saw June hit complete rock bottom and come back to try rehab one more time. She confessed to just how bad her addiction became. She admitted to spending $2,500 a day on meth and then we saw her leave rehab with fans crossing their fingers that she would be successful.
Now the trailer for the brand new season of Mama June: Road To Redemption has just been released! In the sneak peek we see "Pumpkin" say, "She just wants us all to go back to the way things used to be. But after destroying our family we aren't sure if we want her in our lives. We're all struggling with our own problems."
"Pumpkin" is of course worried because her mother has lied to them countless times before, "We don't even know if she's still sober."
Sweet young Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson confessed, "You don't know how many nights I cried myself to sleep." It looks like "Mama June" has to take a good hard look at everything she put her family through this last year and make amends. "I guess I didn't realize how much I f***ed everybody. "I wanna say I'm sorry but I need to show that I'm sorry."
On top of all that, June and her boyfriend Geno are facing a serious court case that may be sending them to jail! The new season premieres on March 19th. Watch the trailer here:
