Fans of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air will be excited to know that the cast of the hit '90s sitcom is coming together once again! As Entertainment Tonight reports, HBO Max has announced that many of the show's original cast members are taking part in a 30th anniversary reunion special. This is what we know so far!

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast reunion set to tape in September

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 30th anniversary special will see the cast members reunite to talk about their time on the show. And as Entertainment Tonight mentions, some major names from the main cast have already been confirmed! Will Smith will be appearing in the special, along with his Fresh Prince co-stars Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Alfonso Ribeiro.

While his involvement hasn't been announced as of yet, it's also likely that DJ Jazzy Jeff could make an appearance, along with some other exciting guests involved with the show! HBO Max has also shared that the reunion special is set to tape on September 10, and Marcus Raboy— who previously directed Whitney Cummings: Can I Touch It?— has been tapped to direct.

Fresh Prince reunion special to debut "around Thanksgiving"

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fans won't have long to wait to see the cast back on their screens! That's because HBO Max has said they expect that the Fresh Prince 30th anniversary special will make its debut "around Thanksgiving"! And as Entertainment Tonight mentions, Smith got some of his Fresh Prince cast mates together back in May for a virtual reunion in honour of the late James Avery, who played his character's uncle "Philip Banks" on the show.

HBO Max has been big on cast reunions this year! The streaming network previously got the cast of political drama The West Wing back together for an election-themed reunion special in support of When We All Vote. They also planned to do a Friends reunion this year, but those plans have been indefinitely delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, it was announced that there are also plans in the works to reboot The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as a grittier drama, which Smith is on board to produce. We're excited to see what comes of this idea, and we can't wait to check out the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special when it hits HBO Max later this fall!
