The 24-year-old English actor Jonah Hauer-King is joining the cast of Disney's live-action remake of the animated classic The Little Mermaid!
Jonah Hauer-King is set to play the role of "Prince Eric" that One Direction singer Harry Styles turned down a few weeks ago. The London-based rising actor, also known for appearing in the drama film A Dog's Way Home, is joining actress Halle Bailey who will be playing "Ariel."
What else do we know about Jonah Hauer-King's role in The Little Mermaid?
The upcoming The Little Mermaid reboot - which will feature all of the iconic songs of the original film, as well as new tracks - will be directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Marc Platt, also known for his work on Mary Poppins Returns.
Javier Bardem and Melissa McCarthy are still in talks to play "King Triton," and "Ursula," respectively. Production is set to start in early 2020.
