Jamie Foxx Sticks Up For Friend Jimmy Fallon Over Old Black Face Scandal

The famously kind Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has been facing a lot of backlash after footage from a 20-year-old SNL sketch resurfaced of him wearing black face paint to do an impression of Chris Rock. He took to social media to say sorry to those he may have offended and fans he disappointed saying "I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank you for holding me accountable."

His longtime friend Jamie Foxx has now come to his defense. Superstar comedian, actor, and musician Foxx has been on Jimmy's show countless times and posted both on Jimmy's apology post and on E!'s report of the scandal on Instagram.

Jamie told Jimmy "Bro you ain't got to apologize for shit... You are a comedian... and a great one at that..You did an ncredible impersonation of Chris Rock... It was not black face... we did a show called in living color where we did a character from every race... You are all the way good... keep doing you my friend! You are necessary!!" and "Some of y'all didn't even see the sketch... relax and laugh! It's other muuuuphuckas out here that really don't care bout ya... use that energy for them!!! But leave my mans alone."

And on the E! Instagram post he wrote: "He was doing an impression of Chris Rock. It wasn't black face. We comedians I know it's a tough time right now. But this one is a stretch. On a show called in living color we played every race. Let this one go. We got bigger fish to fry... #changecourse."
