The Duchesses are reportedly working to mend the bridge. Hopefully, wounds can be healed for the sake of their children.

The royal Duchesses Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle used to have a supportive relationship and would attend royal events together but it seems their relationship has soured. Will it get better between the wives of Prince Harry and Prince William?

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle's Relationship

According to The Express, the mothers of Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren are working to mend their relationship. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been opening up about their tragic experiences in London. Their honesty sparked an almost palpable tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.

One story that had a lot of attention after Harry and Meghan's 2018 wedding was the alleged story that Meghan brought Kate Middleton to tears. It came to light that in fact the story was the other way around and Kate had made Meghan cry after a cruel and poorly timed jab at Meghan's choice of dress for the flower girls.

While their relationship soured, so did Princess Diana's sons. Prince William and Prince Harry had given each other "space" for quite some time and did not spend time with each other until their grandfather Prince Philip's funeral and the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue

Prince Harry was famously quite close with Prince William and Duchess Kate's eldest son Prince George. It is perhaps because Prince William and Kate Middleton would like to meet baby Lilibet Diana that has helped spark the attempts of reconciliation between the Cambridges and Sussexes.

According to The Express, a source has revealed that Duchess Kate "has been reaching out to Meghan a lot more since [Lilibet Diana] was born. She's sending [notes and] gifts and trying to build up a relationship."

Apparently, the royal family has realized they should be on the Sussexes good side rather than alienate and target them further. "The Firm has been instructing staffers to reach out more to Harry and Meghan to get them to soften a bit."

A relationship and royal expert Sam Wunder explained, "For the last month I haven’t seen anything new and negative come up from Harry and Meghan after Lili’s birth and I think Kate is making amends and trying to pacify Meghan."

"Because I actually believe Meghan came in with a lot of passion to do good work and she had really good intentions and I think there is huge disappointment on the part of Harry and Meghan, because they did try and they really did want to do good for the Royal Family. So do I believe there is hope for reconciliation? Absolutely."

A royal birth  "always represents a fresh start and an opportunity for a new beginning." Wunder believes, "Kate comes from a very stable, loving family and she understands that this isn't about ego, this is about understanding that 'we are a family'. And so I think it's amazing that she makes this first step towards Meghan, who I am sure also feels happy that she is being reached out to."

There is finally hope for the royals in this dark time, especially considering there have been so many royal births and that the royals are preparing for Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee honoring her 70-year reign.
