For the British Royal family it is not about being original or creative with a child’s first, second, or third name, but to honor an important member of the family. Traditionally, Royals must choose a name of a Royal that came before them and is meaningful to them in some way.

Sadly for the two brothers who are now estranged, they lost their mother at a very young age and now try their best to remember her in every way they can, including naming their daughters in her honor.

But they also honored their late grandmother, who was also an important member of the family for them and quite possibly one of the reasons that the whole family stayed united.
