Prince William and Duchess Kate handled the situation with grace. After Prince Philip died, a source told Us Weekly how William and Kate explained the sad news to their children.
Prince William told his kids that Prince Philip went to heaven and "is an angel now," the insider said. "They're still so young so he and Kate wanted to let them down gently," added the source.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis chose a picture of Prince Philip with their father and hung it in his memory.
George and Charlotte were also able to attend the memorial service for Prince Philip held in 2022.
Prince Philip died of "old age" on April 9, 2021.
