Prince William and Duchess Kate's royal tour has taken them back to the place they first met.

The royal couple arrived in St. Andrews on Tuesday and spent the night there before visiting the Scottish town's university today. Here's what they got up to on their evening in the town where they fell in love all those years ago.

What Prince William, Duchess Kate did in St. Andrews

Though the Duke and Duchess are no doubt familiar with the St. Andrews dining scene, they actually had a date night out at a new restaurant called Forgan's, which set up shop after their student days.

People reported that it was a "quiet" meal for two, and they dined in a secluded area. But things almost got a little dramatic: the restaurant manager told People that word of William and Kate's visit got out, and a small crowd formed outside Forgan's.

But the royals weren't interrupted by the fans, whom they greeted on their way out, and they enjoyed the night on the town. The manager added that they were "very nice and complimentary when they left."

Today, Prince William and Duchess Kate also visited St. Andrews University itself, where they spoke with students and toured the residence where they stayed in the early 2000s.

Wednesday was Day 6 of their seven-day royal tour of Scotland. Other highlights of the tour have included Prince William's reaction to an elderly woman asking for a kiss on the cheek and the couple having some lighthearted fun while visiting a charity.
