Breaking Bad is a series created by Vince Gilligan, considered a "contemporary western" and has become one of the most popular shows in history.

Through its 5 seasons and 62 episodes, this production starring actors such as Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, and Dean Norris, won a whopping 16 Primetime Emmys, 2 Golden Globes, 8 Satellite Awards, or 2 Critics' Choice Awards. 

The main characters were Bryan Cranston as "Walter White", Aaron Paul as "Jesse Pinkman", Anna Gunn a.k.a. "Skylar White" and Dean Norris a.k.a. "Hank Schrader", Betsy Brandt a.k.a. "Marie Schrader", RJ Mitte "Walter 'Flynn' White Jr.", and Giancarlo Esposito a.k.a. "Gustavo 'Gus' Fring".

Breaking Bad Spin-Offs

Since Breaking Bad fans couldn't get enough even after the series ended, some spin-offs have been created. The Spanish-language remake of the series Metástasis was filmed in 2014 and the prequel series Better Call Saul was created in 2015 starring Bob Odenkirk as hilarious "Saul Goodman".

2019 also brought the film El Camino that tells the story of what happened to "Jesse Pinkman" after the series ended.

  • Vince Gilligan worked as a screenwriter for The X Files before creating Breaking Bad.
  • At first, AMC executives disagreed with the choice of Bryan Cranston as the lead, because of his role in the series Malcolm in the Middle
  • Stephen King has called Breaking Bad the best television series ever. 
  • Vince Gilligan believes that the episode "Ozymandias", from the fifth season, is the best of the series.
  • The character "Jesse Pinkman", played by Aaron Paul was originally going to be killed off early in the series.
