Hawaii Five-0's cast has changed a lot in the past years and Grace Park was definitely one of the fan-favorite stars in the show. The 45-year-old actress portrayed "Kono Kalakua", a character who was male in the 1970's original series, but she left the show in 2017 being one of the most controversial exits in recent years. What exactly did happen?

It seems that Grace Park left Hawaii Five-0 due to a salary dispute; a couple of months after she decided to exit the series, it was revealed that she and her co-star Daniel Dae Kim were getting paid 10-15% less than other Hawaii Five-0 cast members like Scott Caan and Alex O'Loughlin.

Grace Park opened up about her decision of leaving Hawaii Five-O

In 2018 the actress spoke about her exit and said that there were several factors that affected the non-renewal of her contract: "I'm grateful for the lessons learned, but I chose what was best for my integrity," Park said. After she left the series her character "Kono" vacated the islands to join a sex trafficking task force in Carson City, Nevada, in season 8.

Since we saw Grace Park for the last time in Hawaii Five-0 the actress has been working on different projects which include the comedy Adventures in Public School, and the ABC's mystery drama A Million Little Things.
