Justin Timberlake Says He Is Against Britney Spears Conservatorship

On Thursday, Justin Timberlake took to social media to share his thoughts on Britney Spears' conservatorship battle! Timberlake urged people to stand by Spears, raising the issue of her lack of agency over her own life. Find out what he said here!

Justin Timberlake has made it clear that he doesn't agree with Britney Spears' conservatorship! On Thursday, the "Can't Stop This Feeling" singer spoke out on Twitter regarding his thoughts on the pop star's ongoing legal battle, calling for people to stand by her during this time.

Timberlake says he feels that "we should all be supporting Britney"

Timberlake directly referenced Spears' most recent court hearing— which saw the embattled pop star speak out for the first time— at the beginning of his tweet. "After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time," he said.

During her appearance via phone on Wednesday, Spears was emotional as she talked about the extent of control the conservatorship has over her life. She shared that her mental health has been suffering as a result, revealing she isn't even legally allowed to have a child under these restrictions.

Timberlake addresses Spears' concerning lack of agency

Timberlake— who dated Spears for several years before they broke up in 2002— went on to raise the issue of her autonomy being stripped from her. He explained that "what’s happening to her is just not right," before making some strongly worded statements on the matter.

"No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body," Timberlake tweeted. "No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for."

He finished by saying that he and wife Jessica Biel "send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time," calling for justice so she can "live however she wants to live." Earlier this year, Timberlake also took to Twitter to apologize to Spears for his past behaviour following the release of a new documentary exposé on her life.
