American Idol crowned its season 3 winner in a special virtual episode that aired yesterday on ABC.

Just Sam walked away as the season's winner — but another moment during the show caught the attention of fans.

Longtime host Ryan Seacrest had continued his duties for the virtual episode. But toward the end of the night, he was slurring his speech and appeared to have one eye open significantly more than the other.

On social media, many fans expressed concern for Seacrest's health. The situation was compounded when he was absent from Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday morning as well.

Ryan Seacrest's American Idol moment wasn't a stroke

Seacrest is reportedly in good health, however. His rep confirmed his wellbeing in a statement made exclusively to People on Monday.

"Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night," the rep told People. "Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home."

"Between Live with Kelly and RyanAmerican IdolOn Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest," the statement continued. "So today he took a well-deserved day off."

The rep addressed the situation after widespread online speculation that suggested Seacrest's behaviour was consistent with symptoms of a stroke or, possibly, inebriation.

It seems we can join fans in breathing a sigh of relief that the popular host is doing alright. A clip from the moment fans were concerned about is included below.
